Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation

Every treatment begins with understanding your story. Your first visit includes a detailed conversation about your symptoms, history, and goals, allowing for a personalized diagnostic impression and collaborative treatment plan.

  • At your initial appointment, we will discuss your past medical, psychiatric, family, and social histories, as well as the current problems that compel you to seek psychiatric treatment.

Please use our time together to tell me your story, in your words.

We will then collaboratively design a treatment plan to address your treatment goals. If we decide that your needs would be best served by another clinician, I will refer you to an appropriate level of care.

  • The length of treatment is highly variable.

Remission of symptoms, decreased subjective distress, and increased biopsychosocial function are goals of psychiatric treatment, and Clinical Practice Guidelines for some psychiatric disorders suggest continuing medication treatment for 9-12 months after remission is achieved. In certain cases and for certain disorders, the suggested treatment is indefinite.

Patients in the acute phase of treatment can expect to be seen every 2-3 weeks after starting a new medication and during titration/dose adjustments of medications, followed by monthly appointments during the continuation phase of treatment.

To remain in the practice, medically stable patients must be seen quarterly during the maintenance phase of treatment.

Medication Management

At Luther Psychiatry, medication management is more than just prescribing — it’s about partnership, balance, and ongoing support.

  • I take a thoughtful, collaborative approach to finding the right medication plan for your unique needs. Together, we’ll explore how medications can support your healing and overall well-being — while also addressing lifestyle, stress, sleep, and nutrition factors that influence mental health.

Medication decisions are deeply personal. I approach medication management with the same care, thoughtfulness, and respect I would want for myself or for someone I love.

Every recommendation is made intentionally, guided by evidence-based practice, careful listening, and a collaborative discussion of benefits, risks, and alternatives. My goal is never to rush treatment, but to partner with you in finding an approach that feels safe, informed, and aligned with your values.

  • During each visit, we’ll review your symptoms, progress, and any side effects, making adjustments as needed to ensure your treatment remains effective and empowering.

Whether you’re beginning a new medication, continuing long-term care, or considering tapering off, m goal is to help you feel informed, confident, and in control of your mental health journey.

Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation

    • Find clarity, focus, and calm through a science-based ADHD evaluation designed for adults who are ready to understand their minds more deeply.

    • At Luther Psychiatry, our ADHD assessment goes far beyond a simple checklist. This is a comprehensive, evidence-based process that integrates both clinical expertise and objective testing to uncover the full picture of how your brain functions.

    • Our process combines in-depth discussion, standardized rating scales, and Objective ADHD testing (QBcheck) that measures attention, impulsivity, and activity level in real time. This added data helps improve diagnostic clarity and creates a baseline for personalized treatment and medication monitoring.

    • This unique blend of clinical insight and objective data offers a more accurate and personalized understanding of whether ADHD is present — and how it affects your daily life.

    • Comprehensive clinical interview exploring developmental, academic, and emotional history.
